This Day in Golf--March 6

On March 6, 1457, "golfe" hadn't lost its "e" yet and was trying to earn some love. The Scottish Parliament under King James II issued an order barring "futeball and golfe" from being played, mainly because they were interfering with the more important archery training that was used for national defense.
